Runners and walkers can look forward to an on-route celebration from start to finish on Mother’s Day when the 8th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K returns to the Mother City on Sunday 14 May 2023.

At the front-end South Africa’s elites will go head-to-head against the world’s best athletes on home soil, while from the mid to back end of the race social runners (and walkers) can look forward to soaking up the ambiance of the magnificent city while event partners and leading performing arts groups keep the spirts high with their lively performances. “Along the race route, participants will come across our Absa Encouragement Zone, where our Absa colleagues and dancers will be cheering them on as they strive to reach the finish line. Walkers and runners who joined Team Absa Walk Run on Strava will get access to the Absa Grab-and-go Hospitality area after the race. We look forward to another successful and fun-filled 10k race,” adds Mbhele.
More about the 2023 Route: The Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K will once again be a point-to-point race. Starting at Woodbridge Island in Milnerton, runners will be guided along Marine Drive before looping on the ramp onto the N1. The route will then proceed along the N1 highway until the vibrant spirit of Cape Town’s inner city is reached, with the finish ready to welcome runners in Lower Long Street. The fast flat route combined with the exceptionally strong field of local and international athletes is the perfect recipe for an extremely fast race both in the men’s and women’s category with a definite possibility of new 10km records being set.
