The 11th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K will take place on Sunday, 10 May 2026 starting in Marine Drive, Milnerton at 09:00. Road closures and traffic restrictions will be implemented along the race route and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all participants, spectators, and residents.
Event venues at Woodbridge Island (race start) and the Grand Parade (race finish) will be operational from 06h00, with controlled activations taking place along the route. While amplified sound will form part of the event experience, every effort will be made to keep noise levels within acceptable limits. Sound checks are scheduled for Saturday, 09 May between 14h00 and 18h00, and will be monitored by the Event Organiser and appointed Safety Officers.
Traffic flow will be actively managed by Traffic Officers and Event Marshals throughout the duration of the event. Temporary road closures will be implemented on a rolling basis along the route, with access maintained for residents wherever possible. Motorists are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly, allow for additional time, and make use of alternative routes where necessary.
ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULE:
The event will be managed by Stillwater Sports, together with its appointed safety partner, Evsol All In One Event Solutions, and with the support of City Services. All City of Cape Town by-laws and legal compliance requirements will be adhered to.
